About the FreezAir Editorial Team
The FreezAir Editorial Team is a small independent group of researchers, HVAC-adjacent writers and consumer-electronics reviewers based in North America and Europe. We publish honest, physics-grounded reviews of portable air conditioners, evaporative coolers, personal fans and everything the industry mislabels as "AC" but is not.
Our published work covers product reviews, buying guides, head-to-head comparisons, technical analysis of manufacturer claims, and free calculators we built to translate marketing numbers into real-world figures.

How we test and score
Every product review on FreezAir applies the same weighted rubric (see How we test): cooling performance 30%, noise 15%, energy use 15%, build & design 10%, ease of use 10%, value for money 20%. Scores are on a 0–10 scale, rounded to one decimal, and identical across the whole review shelf so head-to-head comparisons are meaningful.
We publish a hardware-verification checklist for every review under Editorial Policy, and every affiliate relationship is disclosed on Affiliate Disclosure in line with FTC 16 CFR Part 255.
Editorial principles
- No fabricated data. If a manufacturer does not publish wattage, dB or tank size, we say so — we do not guess.
- No paid placements. Editorial scores are never for sale. Affiliate links do not affect our rubric.
- Physics before marketing. Every "cools 1,300 sq ft" claim is checked against latent heat, wet-bulb temperature and airflow math. See our technical analysis section.
- Reader-first framing. Every review answers the same three questions: what this device really does, who it fits, and who should skip it.
- Corrections and updates. Every review carries a visible last-updated date; corrections are noted at the bottom of the piece.
