About FreezAir

FreezAir exists because the portable-cooling market splits into two worlds that rarely talk to each other: big-box compressor units reviewed by testing labs, and direct-to-consumer personal coolers reviewed by almost no one with a consistent standard. We cover both with a single ruler.

What we do

We research, score and compare portable air conditioners, evaporative coolers and personal cooling devices. Every product receives the same weighted rubric — cooling 30%, value 20%, noise 15%, energy 15%, build 10%, ease of use 10% — described on our How we test page. Where a manufacturer does not publish a spec, we print “not disclosed” instead of guessing.

Our honesty rule

An evaporative cooler is not an air conditioner, and we never pretend otherwise. Reviews state plainly which technology you are buying, what it can do, and what it physically cannot. Our technical analysis pieces check marketing claims against thermodynamics.
